Forest and stream club wedding | Michael & Tayhna

A wedding at the Forest and stream is always a gorgeous one. An outdoor cocktail setup, first rate bar services, and fine wines will always make guests happy and keep them busy under the sun all evening. The summer cocktail reception is a delight plus many engaged couples I’ve talked with tell me the stream club has some impressive wedding packages on offer. Talk about breathtaking waterfront views, surrounded by water, the Forest and Stream club is kind of a photographers dream, not to mention I’m a huge fan of a tent wedding. I love outdoor wedding ceremonies here, but this was not on schedule at the stream club today. The bridal dressing room is another feature that makes this venue special, providing a personal space for preparation. The wedding ceremony location was not far from Tayhna’s place, and it was a classic greek service overlooking Lake St. Louis. I knew the executive chef hired for that night’s dinner service and I must say… I was more than pleased when that dinner bell loudly went ding a’ling. The dining room, with its elegant atmosphere, was perfect for hosting the evening's banquet. Wedding events - let me just say this group came to party because the smiles, swinging, and stomping happening on the dance floor just about scared the pedals off all those roses in the landscaped gardens nearby. I recognized so many guests at this event from previous weddings I’ve shot, and some were also past clients of mine, which is a beautiful thing to catch up familiar faces, families, and see them celebrating memorable events again. Event rentals like a large outdoor tent sitting out on the back lawn extends the club into the perfect spot for a serious shindig.

Talk about views

Every time I come back to this club I have the best time. Some of the most memorable weddings and engagement parties I’ve documented happened here. My engaged couples have told me the stream club has some impressive wedding packages. To be surrounded by water and fresh air under the summer sun is great, but I’ve photographed a winter wedding here and it was still fantastic. It’s a stellar venue and if I was planning an outdoor tent wedding, and wanted first class service and excellent cuisine, I’d be parking right here. The Forest and Stream Club can host events with impressive amenities and meticulous planning, ensuring an unforgettable experience. It’s a historic manor built on a charming landscape, and ideal location between downtown and the West Island-Dorval Quebec. I can find at least a few guests hidden away somewhere in the landscape and gardens all the time, and people just love walking out and throughout the club. I always take my couples back outside to see incredible sunsets during a little mini portrait session, and these views are always gorgeous and fun for them. The club is also perfect for rehearsal dinners, accommodating multiple celebrations surrounding a wedding in a cohesive and personalized manner. Couples want to feel like the choice to book this club was the right one and when it’s so easy to look good in this landscape I’m also super happy to be able to make these portraits in no time - we go from dinner table to sunset in like 1 minute.

I‘m a people photographer first.

I get that even though this post is written about the Forest and Stream club, I'm not exactly showing a ton of images about it, or showing off how fantastic the interior is, or how beautiful the gardens are, and that is simply because I don't typically capture all that while I working. I generally work alone or have my associate photographer Marlow with me, and we love the venue, but we're not here to photograph it for Architectural Digest. Our clients, their guests and their families are #1 and all of our attention is focused on the people in front of us, and staying a second faster then the action to be in the right place at the right time. I love making portraits of guests, laughing, looking interesting and fantastic, mons and dads having a smooch, and well, you know.. all the good stuff.

The stream club is special

Wedding parties, bridal showers, and other events are going to be next level over here because 1800 Lakeshore Drive, a sophisticated private club, has you covered. If you want old school charm and elegant dining while also being able to comfortably sit down riverside, soak up some sun while sipping a first-rate cocktail, then this might be the perfect venue for your special occasions :) Personally, I don’t need any drink at all to put a smile on my face, because when it comes to portraits I love taking couples around the edge of the water to create bright, sun-bleached backlit portraits with ease. They do have a reputation for excellent cuisine and fine wines, so try not to break the crystal stemware, because for sure it’s one of my fav event spaces.

Party time is always the right time.

This party went off in full effect thanks to back to back unbelievable speeches, fantastic mixes the dj put on, and of course a bar tender who was mixing drinks with more panache than Tom Cruise in cocktail. People were happy, I was happy, I mean, I've worked with this group and their families for a few years now, so I've spent some time with many of the moms and dads that brought up such great people so it't not hard to say I just felt over the moon for the couple. It was a beautiful thing to see it all come together and that's what it's all about - laughing, loving, growing stronger, bigger, everyone felt the love that night. It was A+.
