EMERALD LAKE LODGE ELOPEMENT

Emerald Lake Lodge Elopement | Ashley and Scott @ Lake Louise

I'm travelling to the Canadian Rockies again, and offering adventure session portraits around Banff, and Lake Louise at 50% reduced rate while I'm there. Gorgeous Kananaskis is in the foot hills of the Canadian Rockies, and was calling my name all day last time I was close by. I also came within feet of a wolf pack there on my early morning drive back to the Calgary airport, but that's a whole other story.  I had flown out to meet two adventurous Australian's looking to elope in the mountains, and document their journey. It's an ideal location for an elopement, since when you're surrounded by the Rocky Mountains the beauty of that landscape is unforgettable. The summer and fall views are very different from one another as the long, golden-sunsets you see in summer turn more wild and cool in the fall. Some of my favourite photos were so easy to make during this emerald lake elopement. The rocky mountains are so tall, and every turn revealed another monster-sized mountain that floored us. The planning process and elopement package Ashley and Scoot booked gave us time for one full day of exploring, which we did, and easily found so many great locations to explore. Life was good that day, and from one idea to the next time flew by without worrying about a bouquet, flowers, clouds, or anything. I photographed everything. Our visit through forests, long and wide rivers a mile at the steps of mountains always seemed to put us in the best viewpoint for a photograph.

Lake Louise never disappoints.

Ashley and Scott called me and we talked all about their story, the adventure they wanted, and how important this trip was to them. We quickly discovered we were totally on the same page and this was a perfect fit. Win-win. That being said, I was surprised to find out this had to happen soon, and what they wanted was impossible. How? They were planning on visiting Quebec, and wanted to get married in the mountains, surrounded by snow, setup a canoe rental, find a natural bridge for their ceremony, and turn this elopement into a full on romantic adventure. In October, this just wasn't going to happen and I knew that we'd have to find another location. Alberta, the rocks, the cabins, the mountains, and the snow. This is the place I knew I had to propose, and they said yes.

Yoho National park is next level.

That was a trip I won't soon forget, and keep thinking that I need to do that all over again. That time is now, before it's too cold, before it's too much to wander those valleys and long views. I'm hoping I'll meet a few like-minded people to help make this adventure another awesome one. This is where you come in, I need you to come in ahead of time.

If you are engaged, maybe planning or wanting to elope in the area, or maybe thinking of visiting and bringing your handsome boyfriend up the mountain side looking awesome, this is the perfect chance to see the gorgeous and wild views the Rockies have from every angle. Emerald lake and lake Louise is a place like no other, and a truly beautiful backdrop for an adventure any couple would love.
